I went to TJ after a long time of not going and not only did the US to Mexico border get remodeled but the highway (via rapida) got new street lights. I was shocked to see how well lighted it was. After going for a few hours I came back to the border back to the US through the SENTRI express lanes. I am extremely thankful to be a SENTRI member. Never do I have to make any long lines. There was only one other member in line. My wait time was less than a minute. From the video you can see that afer I crossed there was some traffic getting into the freeway. Thats the first time I encountered that.
Westward of San Ysidro, before the Pacific coast line, there's a place known as El Chaparral, entry point to Mexico;still visible as an extra-wide gate, used for wide loads ,if your driving West, before the road starts to climb up.If another crossing is to be added, that would be it (me thought).

I heard they want to make a 3rd entry point near the beach but that probably might not happen thanks to economy problems. Otay Mesa gets just as full as San Ysidro now and Tecate is too far away.
