No question Manhunter is the best. While Silence of the Lambs is a great movie, sorry tony, they should have cast Brian.

Tony was too creepy. I mean.. Someone that creepy would be suspected immediately of cannibalism.

    Go Brian!

I agree - Anthony Hopkins is Hannibal Lektor in a pantomime or a cartoon whereas Cox's Lektor is creepy-he also looks dangerous. I've met Brian Cox and, even now,he looks like he could F**CK YOU UP (and might at any moment).

it kinda sounded like he was trying to imply, that the work he did on X2 was beneath him. clearly that's not the case, X2 is a very smart film, that still remains the best in the X-Men franchise. it's lame when people make such assumptions, like if it ain't Shakespeare it ain't worth your time. but at least Cox understood the value of the work, and that he was in good company while doing so.

Anthony H as Lecter is about as scary as my nice old grand dad.

I wonder when they start remaking "Silence of the lambs" and "Hannibal" so we can get Anthony H back into oblivion where he belongs in this relation !!

I thought Anthony Hopkins was terrific as Hannibal Lecter. In terms of virtuosity, he could turn from warm, to calculating, to menacing on the turn of a dime. While Cox's performance wasn't as volatile, it was, in it's own way, more true to life and "real." His Hannibal is SO understated that it's actually what makes it so unsettling.
