The problem of course is cocking the wheel to one side. I often insert a tire iron (flat end) inserted into one of the holes (avoiding damaging valve stems) and pry against the inner disk or the drum brake. If it keeps cocking when prying on the opposite side I'll use two tire irons to pry on the opposite end. Of course if the tire is so stuck it doesn't budge is when brute force tools like this might be handy. Too bad all I'm ever gonna get is a big hammer.
