A Chinese activist who circulated an open letter titled "We Want Human Rights, Not the Olympics," was sentenced to five years in prison Monday, a court official said, The Associated Press reported in Beijing.

The activist, Yang Chunlin, had been charged with subverting the power of the state, a claim the authorities commonly use to clamp down on dissent.

I was in Lhassa from the 10th to the 14th of March this year and observed from the Jokhang Temple roof the arrests of Tibetan demonstrators for shouting the words "Freedom."

I observed a police state with secret police and Chinese army everywhere. Apparently the Chinese are still very threatened by the Tibetan minority in Tibet!

Tibet is still under siege. Military presence is prominent to intimidate public. There will be blood shed if torch is carried to Lhasa. May God give enough wisdom to CCP, to avoid man made disaster

The only time that Tibet was part of China was during the Yuan and Qing dynasties. Both of these dynasties were not Han Chinese dynasties. Tibet even conquered China's capital during the Tang dynasty. I guess since your state censors the truth, you might not know these things, so I forgive you.
