The original arabic version of this beautiful poem, recognised commonly as "Allahu Allahu", was written by Hassan ibn Thabit (radiAllahu anhu) who was a very dear companion of our beloved Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam). He was the first and most notable poet who used his beautiful poetry to praise the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam). One of the well known couplets from his poetry reads "I could not praise Muhammad with my words; rather, my words were made praiseworthy by Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."
