'Ringgold, Georgia Confederate Flag Rally'

http://www.SLMNEWS.com On April 26, 2008 a group of patriots from several States across Dixie gathered to protest the decision by the local government in Ringgold, GA to remove a Confederate flag from the memorial in town. The city has been sued to force it to comply with State law and return the flag to its former place. This video, a mesh of a couple different reports as well as pictures taken from the rally by participants, attempts to share some of the highlights from the media coverage, the law suit and the pro-flag rally in Ringgold, GA.

Hey, my people fought for England, I'm American and have been a couple generation, but my folks fought for England, so lets put the brittish flag here. CSA is a different country, we usually don't have a memorial for other countries, just america. For example. We don't have a memorial for all the mexican troops at the alamo. they were a different country.

@comeonfolks The CSA was our gov't here in the South. We're sadly still occupied by that awful regime which calls itself the USA. But we are a different culture and nationa of people and need to be free. Honouring our flag is recognising our heritage and culture. Until we can one day throw off the yoke of the US gov't, we have to do what we can to hold on to our identity, heritage and values. If you don't like the culture of the South, perhaps you should move back to England or head up North.

Had to block you for your profanity. However, I want to say that I am from here. The US conquered us. I'm not going anywhere. What's going to leave is the US gov't's tyranny. Of course you dont care you can afford not to. when things like this get out of hand your safe in your house up on the hill. But people down in the valley can end up hanging from trees. I respect your right to want to live in russia, but what really doesnt make sense is that even though to at least thousands of other people that flag is ofensive and hateful you can sit there and say no its not! no its not! LOL... I don't want to 'live in Russia'. I want to live on my own land and never have to deal with the group of criminals and killers called the US gov't. By the way, I am far from rich. I'm a grad student and am about as broke as you can get. And it's not that I 'don't like America'. America is not the US gov't. The US gov't is the group that occupies my State, kills dozens of people around the world on a daily basis and steals my money to do it with. I want to be free of DC on my own land.

If The War For Southern Independence was treason, then the Revolutionary war was treason. The south fought for independence from a corrupt Union, the Union fought to force the South back in the corrupt Union. We face the same corrupt Union today. Our government is immoral and has lost it's Constitutional Authority to govern.

@RedShirtArmy I've actually done research in the past, however long it's been since I wrote that comment, and I found out TONS of information. I have changed my opinion. I do think the Confederates should be honored. Apparently, according to my research, Confederate soldiers are considered American War Veterans which means, in my opinion, they deserve the same honor and respect.

The Georgia state flag looks like a First National Confederate flag as well.

Actually they do have a Mexican memorial at the Alamo. I have no problem seeing the Mexican flag flying to honor the Mexican people that fought and died for what they believed in. There are also a lot of Mexican flags that fly in the state of Texas. I have ancestors that fought for the Republic of Texas and I have no problem seeing the Mexican flag. I have no problem seeing the Confederate flag fly to honor the brave Confederate soldures.
