Pearl mcx----Gretsch Renown maple----or DW Performance series prices and finishes aside which will give me the best sound?....Thanks :)

@Sharpshooter226 Depends on what kind of music you are playing and what size room. Recording a heavier genre? Go MCX for the tight controlled articulation. Want an all around amazing kit with a strong presence and the best quality control top to bottom? Get the renown. Want a kit with the warmest jazz tones, and a low base volume? Want an exotic finish? Go DW.

They are both great kits so it's hard to say, personally though I'd point you towards the Renowns. It's just hard to beat that great Gretsch sound and I like the focused tone of the bass as well.

is this the same as the MCX masters you offer on your site for 1,399.99?

@greenbrierpercussion are u talking about the hammered brass snare, I havent seen much about bronze. What do you like about it?

@nmorelli4592 Bronze is like putting moon gels on a brass snare. It has the snare sizzliness and the same overtones but they are naturally lower pitched and a little muted. I have owned the 6.5x14 but I prefer the 5x14 I am using now because press rolls are cleaner on it. Super heavy, but very well made and sounds amazing.
