How'd they do that?

Ever wonder how survival, evasion, resistance escape (SERE) gear sometimes has this tightly woven braid of 550 cord which has 7 inner strands inside its outer sheath that can be used for shelter construction, snares for food etc.?

was on sale and on its end was a 550 cord braid squeezing in a LOT of cord in a very small space acting as the key ring.

The seller's wife, Charlotte Pollard graciously allowed us to videotape her demonstrate how to make the 550 Cord Survival Braid technique!

Others have tried with still photos to show the techniuque but us dumb grunts can't seem to master it, so we hope this video can penetrate our thick skulls!

  • @tbrehz86 Survival uses in an emergency.

  • how do u untangle it in a survival situation?

  • @RuNeSCaPeR133 Try it; it's not that hard.

  • I'm surprised nobody mentioned the fact that she actually removed the inner strands, kind of defeats the purpose...

  • @88Kamikaze69 DON'T REMOVE THE INNER CORDS WHEN YOU MAKE THE BRAID.

  • Yeah, this video is ghey...

If you want a REAL survival bracelet and the best #### ones you'll find, you need to get them from jumpmaster99 on ebay. His are the best I've ever seen and they have more cord in them than the cheapie ones made like this person is making the keychain in the video...

He also has a website at ParacordZone (dot com] if you want to check that out. OIF vet and he uses the money to buy equipment for his company.

  • Scoobie doos anyone?

  • yes taking the strands out defeats the purpose of it being a survival knot.

  • Do you sell it ? I wanna buy instead of DIY.

  • nice knots , do u sell ur key chain lanyards, bracetets, neck small knot lanyard s with metal clip.? Let me know cost.

  • @dynmicpara yep it is little more than a key chain if you take out the inner cords. The idea is have lots of the cord in a design that is more useful (ie. better looking) than just carrying around a wad of rope. You can google the extremely long list of things to do with paracord.

  • @88Kamikaze69 people remove the inner cords bcuz it makes the knot flater and prettier. its a not for keychains

  • how do u start it

  • @dynmicpara

I was talking about the people in the video, the guy filming and whoever was standing next to him watching this.
