I had the same problem too, this is how i fixed it:
You have to UN-install the HD pack. I have no how this guy did it with the HD pack, but yeah, UN-install your HD pack! That should work!

Weird, when I open that glass cylinder, I can't pick up the yellow thing inside like in the video. I just pass thru it.

This game is pretty awesome... Too bad i encounter a script sequence error after the part where I take down the chopper and the game shuts down on me...

When dealing with Alien Tenticles, throw a grenade to distract it, then crouch/walk to where you want to get to instead of "running the gauntlet". They don't hear you, so they don't attack you. Weren't you paying attention when you play the original Half-Life? Barney says "Be quiet. This thing hears us." AND you were shooting at it, which is in complete vain; you were only wasting yet more ammo. Right-click while weilding the crossbow to zoom in.

This game drives me mad. Too many unclear ojbectives... What the fuck? The reactor needs holograms? :D Too bad to fuck up a good MOD with things like these..
