  • I remember this from the late spring/early summer of 1981. Gosh I wish I was back home in San Francisco.

  • Thanks for sharing this. Now if someone could just recreate "The Big 610."

  • Journey Loves KFRC Huh Guys?

  • @edybeast I remember this commercial and I LOVED KFRC! I miss San Francisco sooooooo much!!!

  • I thanked 10TVMan when he sent me the KFRC top 100 of 1967 via e-mail over two years ago. Now, I need someone else's help and find me another KFRC year-end survey. The years I need are: 1968 (complete list since the songs are off an aircheck), 1970-'74; 1977 (complete list since there's another airecheck)-'85. I was lucky to find the 1975 and '76 lists in the pages of the Oakland Tribune. I need them to complete my year-end surveys (I may try KHJ from 1973-'77).

  • Nice shot of "the Sturgeon" GMC motorhome mobile studio coming over the bridge...

  • RIP am and fm Radio its been taken over by Citadel, Cumulus, entercom and Clear Channel. The only thing that is making all the money on these stations is Tea Party propaganda from Rush, Hannity and Beck.

  • I still remember the commercial tag line for the electronics store. "Matthews! 6400 Mission Street, Top of the Hill, Daly City."

  • This San Francisco died along time. Now it's a cesspool. My best memories of my life are of growing up in this San Francisco in the 70's.

  • We really do need some good radio, don't we?

    I miss it terribly, too.

  • Absolutely. That was a great treat to look at while in massive traffic at the MacArthur Maze heading to the toll plaza.

  • The Snoopy and the Red Baron sculptures at :24 once stood in the Bay along Interstate 80 in Emeryville (or maybe south Berkeley). I believe that they are gone now. They were beloved landmarks in the 1980s.
