Elijah was a runner up in the YBI Entrepreneur of the year award 2008 with his poultry farming business. Elijah formulated his own feed, ensuring his birds were healthier than they would be otherwise. To raise money for his business, he organised seminars on poultry farming, but it was not enough. It was then that he introduced to Youth Business Initiative Nigeria, where he received a start up loan for his business. Today he employs three people, including a marginalised single mother. He sells eggs to local restaurants, bakers and individuals and he is now hoping to sell eggs to a food processing company when he has scaled up his production.
