The Japanese attacked Manila and the Phillipines on December 7, 1941, and caught one of America's great generals, Douglas MacArthur relatively unprepared. The loss of the American air forces on the ground in the initial attacks, forced the Army to make a quick retreat to the Bataan peninsula and the fortress of Corregidor. This film shows the early stage of the battle, and was made shortly after MacArthur fled the Phillipines for Australia where he would go on to command Allied forces. The second half of the film profiles this American Caesar, and includes rare footage of MacArthur being decorated by General Pershing in 1918, and serving as the youngest Chief of Staff in 1930. It also shows him at West Point, and reviewing forces in Germany. The film's stirring portrait underscores the fact that one of MacArthur's greatest assets beyond military prowess -- was his media savvy.

  • After Douglas MacArthur escaped from the Philippines, he bombed indiscriminately to the Philippines and performed mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Filipinos.

500,000 or more Japanese soldiers also died.

His father is also the person who did the massacre of the Filipinos in the process of the conquest.

  • There is no fact that the Japanese military performed indiscriminate bombing in the Philippines. Moreover, it is December 26 that Manila declared the open city. This is merely an American propaganda film.

  • ayos to ah

  • The traiters in US govmt ordered McArthur out so the Japs could take the Philippines so the war in the pacific would start . Coincidentally, Roosevelt policies preceding the Pearl Harbor attack, which happened latter that same day after Manila, Pampanga, and Mindanao were attacked were designed to draw the US into the Pacific war. It succeeded, but the global elites who run things on this planet have a lot of blood on their hands. History is really not what it seems.
