That doesn't change the fact that they can't just come into the UFC and get an automatic title shot. I realize that's what BJ did at UFC 46, but at least he had fought in the UFC before.

they did have ishida on contract along with hellboy they simply said ok u wanna fight for us thats a 50% pay cut

The UFC couldn't just sign JZ, Ishida or Melendez to come in and fight for the title. Signing fighers isn't that simple. And why would they get a shot at a UFC title never having fought in the UFC?
Florian would have made some sense. But then again, did he really earn the shot against Sherk? All he did was beat Sam Stout. Did Stevenson even deserve a title shot? All he was beat Kurt Pellegrino. At least BJ beat a former champ to get his shot.

I'm a huge BJ Penn fan and I agree with you when you are talking about how he is getting title shot out of thin air. I love watching his fights... but he really didn't fight anyone for this title and it would be nice to watch him beat up more people before a title. I think this is a UFC admin issue. They must give him a break casue he fights in two weight category and he's bags-o-money in the public eye. Either way I'M WATCHING THAT FIGHT!!!

the whole partying thing isnt relevant as when does BJ Penn ever show injuries? its like a mark hunt fight he can get owned and still be fine its a great ability if u got it

WTF are u talking about?I wouldnt call a split dec. owned!Yes GSP might have won a contreversial SPLIT dec.But after the fight BJ was partying and GSP was in the HOSPITAL!GSP hasn't proven anything but he is unconsistent!He hasn't even successfully defended his title yet.Not ONE successful title defense!GSP aint considered to be the best!He still didnt do what Penn and Couture accomplished in holding 2 different weight class titles.And when BJ beats GSP, Thats 2 titles at the same time!
