I wouldn't be so offended. You make the case of his name being "God", but that name comes from German paganism. From the Hebrew "El", to the Judeo "YHWH", God has had many names, and most of them were lifted from the language of the culture.

God told us His true name - "I am".

He is. What we call Him doesn't change that.

"Allah" comes from:

"al" - meaning "the", and

"ilah" - meaning "deity"

What is the "I Am"?

It is the God. It is the Deity. Langauge doesn't change Him.

The problem with the incredulity is that "God" doesn't appear anywhere iin any of the scriptures. It only appears in translations of the scriptures. People who refer to our Lord as "God" are committing the same offense as Muslims who call Him "Allah".

If "Allah" means "The Diety", then it is not surprising that they named their top god "The Diety".

And it is not surprising, considering literal meaning, that they would call the God of Abraham by that name.
