Ian Robins Dury (12 May 1942 27 March 2000) was an English rock and roll singer, lyricist, bandleader and actor who initially rose to fame during the late 1970s, during the punk and New Wave era of rock music. He is best known as founder, frontman, and lead singer of the British band Ian Dury and the Blockheads, who were amongst the most important groups of the New Wave era in the UK.
"Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3" is a song and single by Ian Dury and the Blockheads, initially released as the single BUY 50 "Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3 / Common as Muck" issued on July 20th 1979 and reached number 3 in the UK singles Chart the following month. It is the last single to be released by the band in their original line-up

イアン・デューリー(本名イアン・ロビンス・デューリー)は、1942年5月12日ロンドンのミドル・エセックスで生まれました。父親はバスの運転手で、母親は介護士でア­イルランドの血を引いていたようです。
 7才の時、彼は小児麻痺にかかり、左半身が不自由な障害者になってしまいました。そのため、彼は障害者のための施設と普通校を行き来することになり、いじめや差別に苦しむ­日々を経験しました。そんな悲惨な少年時代を送りながらも、彼には絵を描くという楽しみがありました。そこで彼はアート・スクールに入学し、1966年に卒業すると、見事­美術学校の教師に合格します。しかし、元々ロックン・ロールが大好きでドラマーになりたかったという彼は、美術教師のかたわら友人たちとバンドを組んで活動するようになり­ました。
