Another truth DoD racketeers don't want you to know is the dismal 50% crash rate of UAVs and their poor "soda straw" vision piped back to a ground unit means our troops lack 24/7/365 air surveillance to deny the enemy freedom to lay land mines and car bombs. The solution is to not ask too-fast-to-see-shiite 600+ mph fighter-bomber (FB) jocks or too-slow-too-noisy-to-survive rotorhead attack helicopter (AH) pilots for continuous overhead presence but to restore to U.S. Army Field Artillery short-take-off and landing (STOL) "grasshopper" fixed-wing observation/attack aircraft that can fly 24/7/365 without making us go broke to investigate and locate fleeting enemies as well as kill them with on-board weaponry and directing artillery and FB/attack helicopter strikes when the latter decides it wants to take to the air. Thrush aircraft make a 2-seat, armored, turboprop large grasshopper, the "Vigilante 2" that U.S. military ground forces desperately need. This video showcases the company and their STOL aircraft. I have flown in the original Vigilante back when Fred Ayres built it. This video reminds me of nothing of the Vigilante. Reminds me of a typical promotional ad for the new Thrush. Great aircraft. Built like a tank.

An EIGHT THOUSAND POUND PAYLOAD?!
#^%$@*!
That thing has 2/3 the payload of an F-16 --- it you take that thing to 3000ft with 8000lbs of Hydra rockets and start shooting, you'd run out of fuel before rockets!
