Young aspiring musicians and singers came out for the LaFayettes Got Talent competition at By Faith Studio in LaFayette on Saturday, Jan. 16.

A total of 18 youthful performers took the stage to perform in front of three judges for a chance to the next round of competition, which will be held at By Faith Studio on Saturday, Jan. 30, in hopes of making it to the finals on Saturday, Feb. 20, at LaFayette Municipal Recreation Center.

Some of the performers included the band Third Degree, Kody Sosebee, J.D. Burnett, Walker Rogers, Skylar Ox-ford, Kaleb Howard, Madison Vest, Britton Lawson, Jessica Pickard and Cory Thompson, Austin Foster, Jessica Smith, Trey Suttles, Lillia and Camille Bistrek, Aaron Carlton, Jocellyn Davis, Kyle Veazey, Chad Clements and Kiersten Suttles.

The performers anxiously waited backstage as each performer was brought in one-by-one — often with support-ing family and friends in attendance — to knock the socks off the three judges and to show there is a rich talent pool in LaFayette.

The three judges included Vic Burgess, Lugenia Suttles and Amy Green.

By Faith Studio and Hope Productions producer Vince Stalling was proud to see the youth in the city show off their individual talents. He is excited about the next round of competitions that lead to the finale to find out who will take home the big performance.

The youth brought out several genres of music, including gospel, R&B, country, interpretive dance, and rock, just to name a few, to the studio at 103 C N. Main St. at the corner of North Main Street and Simmons Street, in the old Preferred Office Supply building behind the Subway and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

On to Night Talk with Judy ONeal

Certain performers were picked with the honor of performing on UCTVs Night Talk with Judy ONeal to show-case their talent and give a glimpse of things to come with the LaFayettes Got Talent competition.

The talents will perform on Thursday, Jan. 28, and Friday, Jan. 29, as a part of the local staple nighttime talk show.

Whats next?

The second set of auditions will be on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the studio and will fine-tune the talent down to a cer-tain number of participants. These final participants will go on to compete at the Feb. 20 final showcase.

Stalling said cash prizes will be available to the winners, as well as a demo CD of the winners songs and a video of the performance.

Winners will be showcased throughout the year at the studio and Stalling is inviting area-wide producers and agents to come out and view the talent pool in LaFayette at the showcase.

The talent show is an excellent opportunity to be seen and heard. We want to be the bridge between LaFayette and the talent reaching their goals, Stalling said.
