Um, I thought my talkbox sounded a little bit like Paul Banks. I hope he wouldn't find that offensive :P

Anyway, I love this song and I've been talkboxing a little more than two months. I've actually learned quite a bit of interpol songs because they're.. oddly fun to talkbox to but I'm better at this than any other one.

Set up:

- Rocktron Banshee Talkbox
- Yamaha QY-100 Midi Sequencer (synth)
- E-Mu Xboard 49 (Midi controller keyboard with an annoying squeaky pitch wheel sometimes)

**This was re-uploaded with a version where the talkbox is more audible**

  • That means good in Grace talk.:P

  • [Slightly confused, doesn't see anything from Grace]

    thanks though :P

  • I was trying to post a compliment and I couldn't type correctly so I attacked the keyboard.

Anywho, since I can now, this song gets stuck in my head a LOT ever since I saw it! it's so good!:D

  • If you can't use something correctly = attack it. Live by that rule.

But thanks! Ever since learning it I've been kind of sick of it because I had to listen to it so many times to get it right :P

  • This is the most intelligible talkbox sound I have heard yet. I love it. I have to ask, are you adding plosive sounds like "sssss" and "fffff" with your own voice?

  • Thanks! Yeah I am. It's so important to really emphasize those sounds to make it sound like actual speech.

Talkboxmayhem's "Talkbox tutor" videos helped a great deal. I watched them before I got a talkbox and it was easy to just dive into it.

  • ok, just went and listened to the original to make sure that it was you. The original rocked and I can see why you might want to emulate it. Did not pull it off. Not really far off , really...too much....I guess.

Seriously, you should consider the yarn thing. Ham hocks are not cheap but walls to beat them in time are plentiful and you don't really need a metronome, Just beat that ham hock and if anyone ? you about it, make them the wall...Ham hock...wall

  • I came to say om nom nom but to be honest your video does not even deserve such.

practice more or find a new medum. Perhaps hitting a ham hock against a wall to a metronome? Maybe throwing yarn at the sky? I am sure you have a talent. Search for it. Perhaps it will find you without your even searching. Like the way the red line finds a homeless person when when they are not expecting a bus to hit them while they are piddling in the middle of the intersection

  • @Zerzios Agreed. But, you got to give him credit for covering a song in his own way. But yeah, I still agree, it's not a good mix. lol

  • Nope. T-pain and Interpol don't mix

  • could listen to this all day. I actually love it. Great job :'D

  • A fuckin joke! Hahaha!! almost threw up laughing xD

  • скучно

  • hi, it sounds great ^^

    i like that talkbox sounding.

are you using a talkbox -> midi controaller -> VST software?

will it work.. cuz i'm considering to buy a talkbox too

    thanks!

  • ......speachless.......amazing

  • Whoa, first time i see something like this..looks pretty interesting!
