These profiles of the 2004-05 New Wisconsin Promise Schools of Recognition continue with a look at Zablocki Elementary School in Milwaukee. Zablocki administrators and staff have found new sources of student data and ways to use them to advance student achievement. Also featured are the school's partnership with a nearby preschool to increase reading scores, reading recognition assembly, instruction of research skills during social studies time, and use of the Thinking with Numbers tool.
I was a student at Zablocki when I was a kid, and I loved it. I know I would not have been nearly as good of a student as I was without the help of all of my amazing teachers. I still remember all of their names, and saw many familiar faces in this video. Even the teachers I didn't have had an effect on me, and I owe all of the people I learned from so much.

I have had a number of my kids go there. The teachers and staff are the best at what they do. Seats in this school are priceless. Every teacher brings new and exciting things to their classrooms. It is a shame that all schools don't have this dedication to doing their best to teach every child. There is a real air of family at this school. They know all the stludents and their families.
