This impromptu rehearsal with Lozano/Ariondo was filmed in Los Angeles, California in October 2010 where they first met and discovered one another's musical talents. At this time, they were both involved in an opera production with the great tenor Placido Domingo.
Nick Ariondo accompanied Placido Domingo onstage in LA Opera's world premiere of Daniel Catan's "Il Postino" and Israel Lozano sang the co-lead tenor role with Domingo in the Vienna, Austria production of the same opera. Lozano/Ariondo became immediately connected through their musical expressiveness and their exquisite performance style. Upon viewing the video, we see in this initial impromptu session, a first glimpse of the magnetic potential and chemistry created by these two unique artists. About the music: Torna a Surriento & Mattinata --
Torna a Surriento is one of the many lovely Neopolitan favorites composed by Ernesto de Curtis (1875-1937), a native of Naples, Italy....Mattinata, by Ruggero Leoncavallo (1857-1919) was a prolific composer of opera, operattas and Neopolitan songs. His most successful opera was Pagliacci.

@patricksalis For some reason I can't post my own comment here so I'll respond to yours. It's not often that we get such an intimate look into a rehearsal by two music masters. This is a real treat to see!
