@superskullmaster my poor boy, the RAFALE beat the F16, the F18 super hornet, the eurofighter and is on a par with the F22, then say that Rafale is the level of F16, it's ridiculous!

@marmiedoise No the F-15 back a few years ago was just under $18,000 an hour to operate. Should be roughly $10,000 and hour for the F-16(it might have 1 engine but it still needs maintenace like a beast). The F-22 only cost more to operate than the F-15 because of the RA skin. Fuel cost is similar.

@marmiedoise i make a mistake in this message, i want to speak about the fly cost not for the f16 but for the f15 eagle and f15 silent eagle.

@marmiedoise Common sense should tell you that I cannot tell you anything you can't find on your own. Plus I build C-130-J's. All i know is what a few F-22 guys have mentioned before and again its nothing you can't find online if you look hard enough.
As for the F-117, yea tough break for that bird. Got to see one up close once when I deployed. Really amazing for old technology. Remmber the plane is as old as the technology that shot it down.

@superskullmaster You Work for Lockheed, interesting thing so we can have good info about the planes they devellop ;)
For memory, we don t care about the 4th or 5th generation of planes it s only a "seller argument" and to proove that remember during the war in Kossovo a f117 was destroy buy a serbian anti plane system ( 70s technology ) and at that time the f117 was considered as the best and no "detectable" plane so... Between the paper and the reality it s always different don t forget that.

@superskullmaster I heard that one hour fly for F16 was 25 000 us dollar and 40 000 for f22 and for one hour of fly, f22 need 30 hours of repair and maintenance, but may be those info are wrong. For f35 we will see when it finish if so many countries will buy it and how many planes exactly, actually it s only orders. Some british officiers declare that for missions they will choose Rafale not the Typhoon. India and Bresil are interest by the french plane. 126 orders for India at last we ll see.

@marmiedoise No the only reason it isn't available for export is politics. Japan wanted some. Not sure who else. Cost aside the F-22 is a great plane. I'm not saying the Rafale isn't but its not a 5th gen fighter you can't really compare the two. I'd compare the Rafale more to an F-16. Obviously its a newer gen plane but lets be real, we have 3 times the amount of fighters anyone else has and we export. Not many people jumping on the Rafale purchase train. How many F-35 orders?

@marmiedoise I work at Lockheed Marietta. I am well aware of the F-22 fly away cost. As for per hour. Its not that much more than a F-15. Maybe $20,000 per hour give or take. Is it worth it? Well someone who doesn't have can only downplay and hate.
As for the inability to speak with other aircraft. Yea that is pretty gay, I only learned about that a few months. Ago. Funny enough, ive been working here since April last year and just now saw an F-22 fly out of here. Maybe the last.
