Dr Rand Paul speaks in Paducah Kentucky Part 5 5-8-09

Rand Paul, son of Congressman Ron Paul, gauges support for Senate run in Bowling Green & Paducah!

Some politicians feel the need to travel to Washington, DC to ask permission to run for office or to obtain some regal blessing. Rand Paul, this week, will travel to Teresa's Diner at 509 Gordon Ave Bowling Green to gauge support for a possible US Senate Run. Dr. Paul will be there for breakfast at 7AM Thursday May 7th.

May 8th, Dr. Paul will go to Paducah to speak to supporters. He will speak at the Gazebo (4PM) at 2nd and Broadway.

Wouldn't it be great if politicians spent more time getting the approval of Kentuckians, and less time being "anointed" in DC?

We'd love to see you there; some of us still believe in elections not coronations.

Turning them back over to their country of origin and send them back into battle? What kind of suggestion is that? These are the most ignorant statements I have heard a politician about Gitmo in a while and certainly if this is Rand Paul's position on Gitmo, he is a dangerous candidate and obviously doesn't understand what the consequences of doing these things will have if carried out.

He was asked is he favored releasing them on American soil!!!!

He said release them back in their country.

Do you want to release them in America?

Of course, no CONVICTED terrorists would be released anywhere. They are talking about the ones we let go and yes we've let over 90% of those captured go.

For the record, Bush, McCain, Huckabee and many others are on record in favor of closing Gitmo.

@wheelieguy You obviously don't understand what he said. He said "If you can't convict them" These are detainees that couldn't be convicted and were released in America. If you can't convict them, what would you do? Keep them jailed indefinitely? I'd rather have them deported than released on American soil.

FYI Wheelieguy, He's not a politician, he's a doctor. Also, he's an Individual who is merely stating a possible way of dealing with the prisoners at Guatanamo bay. If you have a better suggestion, then do enlighten us as to what it might be. Unless you have a really viable suggestion, I'd reserve your comments in the future to your own counsel.
