@TipTheScales27 to me, its more a grungy feel, than a sound. And style was a big factor too. Think of what the word grungy means anyway.... and they were that. But you are right, none of them sound like the other. They all have very distinct sounds.

Saw Mudhoney in '91 or so. First real show I ever went to, I was like 17. Got wasted, stage dove about 20 times until the crowd got sick of it and dropped me on my head. I had a concussion, was puking and I lost my Airwalks. Best show ever!
