I wanted to make a skirt for a 80 inch long table. I started with 160 inch length. After doing this, instead of 80 inches, it was only about 56 inches. Instead of doing the whole thing over again, I just did some math to figure out that I could take out a about six pleats and spaced them out evenly. So I have pleats, but a few places with no pleats. It actually looks more interesting than all pleated since the non pleat areas are spaced out evenly. So as to ratio, would that be 2.5 to1?

how do you determine how much fabric you need using this one inch box pleat? Im making a queen size bed skirt thats 84" long on each side and 64 inches on end of bed.
