If you believe what the Bible tell you - you will know that feelings can change like the wind. Jesus is the rock where the anchor holds during the high winds of the storms of life. Anyone can share a handshake, anyone can share a moment - but when it is time for you to pass, no one .. NO ONE.. can hold your hand and walk you through to the other side except one man - and that one man is Jesus Christ.

Smile handshake a hug and a shared moment are temporary. heaven and hell is forever. God said so in the Bible and His word is ultimate authority regardless of your feelings. Mack is a man of God and F.B.C. Jax is a God honoring church. God honoring because the Bible is their authority,"God's way not yours." Get the love of Jesus in your heart, and the love you are talking about will become more real than ever before.

Ken, can I safely assume that you've never read the entire Bible from cover to cover? Once you've accomplished that, I will happily reconsider your criticisms of this pastor. I heartily support an individual's right to criticize but only after they have educated themselves. By the way, I don't belong to First Baptist Church nor am I a Baptist.

Sir,
The Scripture is and always will be paramount. The Scripture is the Final Authority in all matters of faith and practice. It's Faith not Feelings. If you are right. everybody is going to heaven i guess.

I moved to Seattle (from Jacksonville) in 1995, partly due to the ugliness and meanness of those Southern Baptists. They are judgemental, and highly divisive. In the Pacific Northwest we don't have those monstrous baptists.

Unfortunately, "feelings" don't get you into the Kingdom of Heaven. Neither will a smile, a handshake, and a hug won't either. Relies too much on scripture? Holy cow! Mac was my preacher at First Baptist, Dallas. Although our current pastor is leading our church into a new wonderful direction, I miss Mac. He's a great person. I think you mean well, but you're headed down the right road but in the wrong direction. Read your Bible. It will lead in the right direction, even in Kent, WA.
