First run, No T/state.......One of the reasons Discovery 2 head gasket fail it's bcz the original thermostate and cooling system desing is just crap........... This truck was running hot 220F some times 230F... Acording with the books, theres no risks of boiling the antifreeze at this temp bcz the system is under pressure, but I still think is too hot...... Also the original thermostate work by water flow, That means if u are idling for a long period of time it will over heat at some point if ur fans are not working properly..... Well right now the engine work at at 140 to 150 F no matter what I do. It never gets or even see the 160 or 200F at all...... Heater work fine and fuel economy had drope a litle bit.... Im planing on getting a 160F T/state to regulate the idle and get the mpg back to normal..

  • Thanks for sharing this man. I replaced my thermostat a while back and it made a ton of difference. My temp stays right in the center. That's a nice scanner, where'd you get it?
