the fretboard is actually maple but it caught fire from the friction created because he was playing so fast.

Face-melting. You are clearly a virtuoso. I had a master-class with Steve Vai last year. He was incredible. It was inspirational just to be in the same room with him. I learnt alot from his close-up demonstrations. He was asked to perform this piece, but declined as he wasn't fully 'warmed up'. He told me later that he simply couldn't remember it as it was over 20 years since he last played it.
Thank you for playing it so well. You are an inspiration to us all.

@bucktheusa WTF is with your attitude? He designed his own guitar in the same way EVH created the Frankenstrat....why do you take issue to how we spend OUR money??
Fine. So he doesn't ACTUALLY play while holding the guitar with the handle, cos he has the strap, dumbass. As I previously stated, he uses it for STUNTS.....watch the Bad Horsie lightshow, and you'll see why he wants the handle.
Fcking grow up, and keep the negativity to yourself.
