  • why is the Philippines trying to ride on the KPOP wave?

the philippines need to do their own thing, if they want to have a GIRL POP group, it should be their own unique song and style not trying to imitate the kpop song and culture.

  • @KR15CO then why does korea ......always trying to ride on j-pop dude... its in the net ... that k-pop... was from .......j-pop ........ and from western..... better know those things... search it ,,, on the net

  • @dbsknada I'm glad to know that you have faith in P-Pop. It makes me want to believe in it myself. ^^

But I'm still skeptical, it's just that the people involved in the P-Pop industry aren't really trained the way K-Pop and J-Pop artists are. I don't think they ever will train like that either. Most of the celebrities that get on Filipino TV simply depend on their connections.

However, I know that there are those hard workers that I can be proud of~ I seriously hope you're right. ^_^

  • @iwishforyou21 I think the Philippines have the most talented singers. It's only a matter of time and P-Pop will get more popular. This's just the start of something new, it might not be original but who knows, give it a couple of years and lets see how P-Pop will turn out ;)

  • @dbsknada I understand. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me~ ^^ K-Pop did pick up that trend and I was wrong. I guess what I was trying to say wasn't said well enough. Even I look at it and think oops~ LOL but I don't know, K-Pop has put a spin on old trends and has somehow made it into their own.

P-Pop, on the other hand, has no twist to it that makes it different from K-Pop, and this fact disappointed me. Philippines can produce good music but they need to work on originality.

  • @iwishforyou21 Groups singing and dancing on stage have been in the Music business way before K-Pop was created. They were popular back in the 70s,80s and early 90s. But those groups eventually broke up and solo artists became more popular. When groups became an old trend in western music, K-Pop has picked up that trend and made it successful. So, K-Pop is not original, it's just a modern remake of what music used to be in the last century.

  • @dbsknada K-Pop IS original. Where have you seen music like it BEFORE others began copying it? These groups just began popping up AFTER K-Pop idols began promoting in the Philippines.

K-Pop idols sing and dance on stage and this is what P-Pop 'artists' are TRYING to do. Also, their songs sound close to K-Pop. Compare XLR8's You're So Hot with Super Junior's Sorry Sorry. GirlSquad even did a cover of SNSD's The Boys.

I'm Filipino and I believe we can do much better than plagiarism.

  • @milevidlor And how exactly is P-Pop different from K-Pop? All these groups popped up after K-Pop began its promotions in the Philippines. How does P-Pop have the upper hand when it comes to English? Filipinos are supposed to speak English because you can't get anywhere in life if you only know Tagalog. Koreans can stand on their own, but they, too, are learning English.

Besides, you can't even speak proper English. Check your grammar, dear. Ikaw dapat mahiya, hindi ba?

  • hahaha imitating??????? are you not ashamed of waht you're talking about p-pop is different from k-pop no one copied from each other ...p-pop is more advantage than k-pop from english..........Mahiya naman kayo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • please dont compare your selves to KPOP. why dont you create our own P-POP wave? because its showing that we filipinos folowing the wave of K-POP

  • @TheCherielove Because I support SoShi so much; I am against groups that are trying to copy them. Or, for example like this. Wonder Girls ( Original ) Pop girls ( Wtf )? Especially another group; I forgot the name, copied the song of Super Junior's Sorry Sorry. This really annoys me. These other groups need to be more creative on their own. Not copying. THIS IS WHAT CAUSES "HATERS"

  • @SupahGundamFan YAH! If your a real SONE you shouldn't bash on other groups! It's making SNSD look bad! Im a sone for 3 years. And if your a real sone you wont put comments like this, thats why SNSD are getting so much haters.
