Felix The Baby Skunk

This is an older video from July 18th, 2008. I was camping with some friends and found Felix on the side of the road next to his dead sibling... I believe they had been knocked out of the road by a car. I put him in a cooler with a t-shirt and began hand-feeding him, then drove back home with him and kept him at my house for about a week until I managed to find a professional to rehab him. I would have gladly paid to have him fixed and descented and kept him as a pet, but sad to say it was highly illegal of me to even have him in my possession, and the DNR would have fined me and put him down. He was successfully released back into the wild after he'd been weaned, and I hope that he's still alive and doing great!

If you want a skunk, first move to a state where they are legal. Then get one from a licensed skunk breeder. That way, you'll have a descented, and TAMED skunk that won't revert to its wild nature and start acting as such.

iamfunzo so glad to hear you took the time to help her. They are so adorable and lovey, it's VERY hard to let them go. She's happy now though living her natural life, and it's all thanks to you!

I went through the same thing. I raised an orphan for about 6 weeks before finding a rehabber in the next province who would take her (not legal in mine). So I drove 8 hours with her to give her to a rehabber who took over and set her free at the end of summer. It's been 3 months and I'm still heartbroken. Good job!
