A United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket managed by NASAs Launch Services Program
lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., Thursday. It carried two spacecraft
for the United States Missile Defense Agency. The Space Tracking and Surveillance System
Demonstrator mission, or STSS Demo, launched from Pad B at Launch Complex 17 at 8 a.m. EDT.
STSS Demo is an element of the STSS Program, a space-based sensor component of a layered
Ballistic Missile Defense System designed for the overall mission of detection, tracking
and discrimination of ballistic missiles.
That is really awesome! I typed in STSS for "shit that siri says", and couldn't help but check this out. Loved listening to the speakers using their terms n all that. Very cool!
