Oscar Torres, director of the film Voces Inocentes, about the civil war in El Salvador, came to give a talk after a screening of the film at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga in March 2009. At this point he begins talking about schools, gangs, deportations, activism, and the organization his countryman Alex Sanchez helped to found, Homies Unidos. Alex is not facing a federal indictment on racketeering, murder, and other charges stemming from his alleged involvement in the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) street gang, and there is an active campaign in his defense.
