I wrote this hymn while walking up a hill, and I sang it all the way back down.
Lyrics:
Pray on, you pilgrims, wait for the Lord,
You pilgrims bent with care.
Though daily you must suffer,
The darts of the prince of the air.
Your feet shall not falter, your shield shall not fail,
The Father's coming to take you home!
Pray on, O heaven's children,
He's coming to take you home.
Take joy, you pilgrims, wait for the Lord,
You pilgrims sore with stress.
Remember Mary and Martha,
And which of them chose best.
Though this world bring trouble, your hope lies not here,
The Father's coming to take you home!
Take joy, O heaven's children,
He's coming to take you home.
Fear not, you pilgrims, wait for the Lord,
You pilgrims hounded by doubt.
God's mercies are new every morning,
His angel encamps all around.
His grace is sufficient, his love does not fail,
The Father's coming to take you home!
Fear not, O heaven's children,
He's coming to take you home.
What a wonderful hymn, thank you.
