MANUAL.....the whole point of using a DSLR for video...if i want AUTO i would buy a camcorder

I think you should read the owner's manual first; it seems to me that you had no idea how to use the AF on live view.

This does not really tell a useful way to use AF in video mode. It;s more like why you should not use it. It would be better to make a tutorial on how to keep your subject in focus while making a video.

@2Cool4Games quick mode rules. but there's a problem when you have to focus back and forth in the same scene.

And I have to use it soon for a job..shooting videos....
.but it seems so complicated...I am looking for someone to tell me how to set EVERYTHING in AUTOMATIC...I mean it! dont have time to learn now.

Can you please explain why you wouldn't recommend using the AF face detection while shooting video just because the camera hunted for auto focus during your demonstration. Didn't the camera do exactly what you asked it, and it couldn't focus because no faces were detected. would it be possible for you to redo this test with a few "faces" in the scene so that the AF face detection could really be tested. I agree that nothing beats MF even for Video but I want to quiet the Nikon D7000 crowd.
