In this video, we board a Pennsy passenger train to take a journey on the mainline over the entire layout. There was a 1-minute gap in the train audio between Hinkly and Columbia, so I dubbed in a short music clip. The train audio picks up again (in sync with the video) as the train enters Columbia. Unfortunately, sound goes out of sync from video as train pulls into the station. Not sure why.

  • Very nice video and the layout looks impressive. Where in Columbia is it located?

  • We are located on the second floor of the Columbia Historical Society at 21 N. 2nd St. (between Locust and Walnut Sts.). The building used to be a church, then later a machine shop.

  • Thanks Tony, only after I asked the question did I think to check the web site. I do have another question though. Are there any hours when it is open to the public?

BTW, I live in Elizabethtown and model in O gauge 3 rail, but love all things that run on rails.

  • We are generally open Sundays 1:30-4pm. I usually put a sign outside the doors. We will be open next Sunday (3/1/09) and the following Saturday (3/7/09) from 1pm-4:30pm. Are you a member of the Masonic Homes Model Railroad Club?

  • Very nice.

  • Thank you. I just wish the sound would have stayed in sync like it did when I reviewed it prior to uploading. The plans are to expand the layout in the future which would make a longer trip.

  • How big is the club layout?

  • No, I am not a member. I've been there a few times and know a couple of the members, but I have trouble finding time to work on my layout and the grandsons HO layout so don't think I could do them a lot of good. I also volunteer at TCA library in Strasburg one day a week. Will try to make it down next Sunday.
