For first impression here´s a short function test of my last tube amp project: An enhanced REPLICA (CLONE) of a MazeratiGT , which is originally made and sold by Dr.Z Amps. The amp is a "Trainwreck derivate" and has got a pretty high gain single channel preamp and a 30 Watts "class A" EL84 power stage. This amplifier has excellent touch sensitivity and very smooth gain, it reacts excellenty on changes of the guitar volume. Please excuse the video sound quality but the built-in camera microphone produces lots of compression. Contact or e-mail me for further information... For all who can´t deal with the fact that i put the small "mazerati gt" sign on the front plate myself: Don't waste your breath - I don´t care.

  • Great work! Sounds amazing!

Where did you get the schematic diagram from to build it?

Or is that top secret? ;)

  • @carpathianchris

thank you. no it´s certainly not top secret. have a look here @ ww.tube-town.de => FORUM (it´s a german language tube amp forum and you´ll have to sign in) and search ("SUCHE") for "mazerati gt". the links will get to the schematic & the building report.

    Greetings

  • i do not understand. why dont you just say this is a copy of a mazeratii amp.? there is no way we can "excuse" the sound quality of this vid. i made a lame rush demo of an amp once, but this is just plain wrong. from what you have shown here this is just a mazerati gt and you said you ahve "made" it. this low.

  • @jamesraymondsmith: Hmm. So far it seems that everyone who read the headline and video description instantly recognized that it is a diy build and not an original. Didn´t I mention it is REPLICA and a CLONE? Is there a Z logo on the front? Why would I build an "original" Dr. Z amp? WTF people, don´t waste your breath.

Just to make it clear for all those who don´t like to read properly, I changed the description and headline to a unmistakable version.

    Dear me!

  • Dude, I get it - I hope anyway. You like to make things, so do I. It looks like you did a nice job all around.

However, to put the Z and the name on it is the height of bad. I know the people who feed their families by making Dr Z amps. You are not them. You made this amp. Put your name on it. Be proud of a job well done. But do it right, please.

  • What transformers did you use? I think that sounds great, just like the original

  • @matchlight007 There is no cure for 'stupid'. I wish I had your engineering skills.

    Great job.

  • @matchlight007 I have to ask, schematic???? And/or better photos. Great sound, btw.
