[20 minutes later the doorbell rings]
Demi: *opens the door* hey
Joe: Hi, Are you ready?
Demi: *puts up two fingers* Two min
[Joe POV: She closed the door before I could go inside. I wonder why she didn't invite me in. *laughs sees two little girls peeking out the window* I wonder if they are her little sisters. Demi is coming out and I tell her "let's go" I lead her to the car and open her door for her. She seems nervous, probably because she is meeting my family on the first date. Great choice Joe, you could have just taken her out. But, Nick would probably get angry, although he is doing better now, ever since the day he came home after storming out of the house... wait Demi was crying that day.... I wonder]
[Demi's POV: He opened my door like a gentlemen, I am soo nervous, my first date ever. I have been on other "dates" but not where the guy picked me up. I am surprised my mom let me come... I wonder what their mom is like. Joe is awfully quiet, he seems lost in thought. Hmm Joe *smiles* he is so nice and honestly hot. His hair is amazing and his eyes... his eyes I could get lost in... and I was he caught me staring]
Joe:*clears his throat* Could I ask you something?
Demi: Sure
Joe: *pulls the car in his driveway and turns it off* Why did you come here that day you were crying? Why were you crying?
Demi: *paused absorbing the shock from the question, he had completely caught her off guard* I saw you go in the house and I was headed toward Selena's house. I don't know I just felt like I could trust you
Joe: But you didn't, you left. Did you run into someone else?
Demi: *suddenly angry* He told you *gets out of the car*
[They arrive at his house in a few minutes. Nick is sitting at the table when they walk inside.]
Nick: Hey Joe, where have you... *sees Demi and jumps up thinking she had another fight with her mom or something* Demi! Is everything alright? *hugs her*
Demi: *pushes him away* Why would I tell you, you will just tell everyone else?!
Nick: *confused* What?
Joe: Demi, he didn't tell me anything. I just pieced it together.
Demi/Nick: What?
Joe: Nick came home that day and he wasn't angry anymore, he was back to normal, he was Nick.
Demi: Oh...
Nick: *broke the awkward silence* So mom is working late and Kevin took Frankie to a birthday party. Would you guys like to go to the movies instead or something?
Demi: Definitely *happy to be going somewhere that didn't involve conversations*
Joe: *still wanted to know what was going on but let it go* okay
[They went to the movies and then Joe dropped Demi off at 10. Before she got out of the car Joe grab her hand.]
Joe: Demi, I don't know why you were upset that day, but if you ever need to talk...
Demi: *leans over and kisses him on the cheek* thanks
[When she entered her house, she knew something was wrong. ]
Aunt: Honey, where have you been? I have been trying to call you
Demi: At the movies, my phone was on silent. Why are you here?
Aunt: Come sit down sweetie.
Demi: *she did as she was told* where is mom, where are the kids? (My Aunt live in Indiana, so I was surprised to see her here at our house in Ohio)
Aunt: Well...
