@kreed82, those who regularly check out the soap opera weekly and/or digest magazines KNEW that these actors had gotten fired. it was a pretty big deal, one just about everyone hated because most of the characters were practically untouchable. then when the Salem Slasher was revealed, everyone got upset about that because it didn't make any sense. Sort of like the Salem Mugger in today's story line.
I live in uk and dont really know the ins and outs of how the s/l was perceived..Were days fans at the edge of their seats wondering who was going to die next? how was the backlash, it must have been pretty weird knowing that these characters were dying but with no breaking news stories of the actors (playing them) quitting or getting fired surely
as much as I hated the idea of this storyline, I have always thought that this was a good opportunity for all the actors on this show to come together and show how wonderful they were. and since they fixed it when they brought everyone back, I kinda chalk this one up to "typical soap opera craziness"
I thought this storyline ws really good, but then when they showed that everyone else was actually alive, that totally killed it for me and proved they were only looking for a "summer storyline" (or whatever) to shake up the ratings, but they didn't want to lose any of their cast members.
I agree this storyline is a huge FU to everyone. I hope Reiley never touches another soap again! DOOL Fan, this proves you know nothing about this history of Days.
this is one of the best storylines in the history of days. i loved it, it is the second best to Max and Stephanie's france adventure to search for Melanie.
