How do i dig out rough-shale walls & smoothed pillers/walls? The dwarfs are not following my designations when i ask them to mine it.

@1190lewis I had this apparently theres a risk of water being nearby but I got this several times in he same room, I guess you should look for any danger.

@masterjamie9 If you want your dwarves to do the work then yeah, you need a lot of buckets. DFwiki pond for more info.
