This video is proof that instruments can speak...

@MandoMohan That's right. I hope a lot of people will get turned on to Bill's music. This tune, I always love listening to this on my copy of "Master of Bluegrass". This piece has a mysterious way of being both haunting and beautiful at the same time.

I lost my dad about a month ago and this was the last song played at his funeral. I know he would have liked that. He was a big fan of Bill Monroe. May the light of the Lord shine upon both of them and I sincerely hope they've had at least one good jam session together... I love you, Daddy and I miss you terribly..........Thanks, MandoMohan, for posting this...

@hollerinloud I'm sure Bill would be thrilled to see all the new fans he has these days. All the Best

I somehow missed this song when I got into bluegrass a few years ago. Thanks so much for sharing.

@zclan51 Well, thankyou, you're most welcome. If you came across Monroe's first release of this instrumental in the 80's you might not have liked it quite as much. It has added electronic sound effects. I think it might have even been a bit cheesy for Bill, too.

How beautiful. What talented men they were. So glad to find this on your site Man. My brother gave me our father's mandolin and I want to learn to play. Any suggestions? Thanks.

@Songsmirth You can't go wrong starting with American fiddle tunes like, Salt Creek, Sailors Joy or even better, some of Bill Monroe's own tunes like, Chippiwa, Kentucky Mandolin or Bluegrass Stomp (This one's nice and rocky).
You'll find them all here. Download the TEFView file viewer, and you're away.
