  • I'm not sure about hair dryers or water - your best bet would be to visit the Sakura site (makers of these oil pastels) to find some info. Thanks for visiting my channel!

  • That's not oil based pastels it's chalk based

  • Here is the manufacturer's website that describes the Cray-Pas Specialist Oil Pastels if you have any questions:

  • I heard that these particular oil pastels are artist's quality. Looks like they work nicely. I like the size and shape too....have you used more expensive brands and how do they compare?

  • I have not used any other brand besides Sakura...they have three kinds of oil pastels - "Expressionist" is student-quality, "Specialist" is artist-quality (what I use), and then there's the "junior artist" for kids. But I love pretty much everything Sakura makes!

  • Will oil pastels melt with hair dryer? Does he oil pastel colors you use work with water?

  • Will oil pastels melt with hair dryer?

  • I just purchased those Sakura Specialists on Blick, and I cannot wait to use them! I've owned some Sakura brand before like ten years ago (they were used, and given to me and the box was already old, and don't know if it was considered junior or expressionist) and I loved the brand. :)

  • These are fun techniques to try ... thanks for sharing.
