And im no means implying that the sound of old school soundgarden is described as "metal"... Genre has nothing to do with it; its just that their sound was such a strong combination of so many things: Metal pace, blues, reverence to classic rock, space and minimalism to a certain degree, arabic riffs, and clever arranging....

Why do I feel like the essence of rock no longer exists now? Modern Metal heads may attest to the opposite of the statement, but if you really boil it down, rock is pretty dead... At least in the mainstream age. What made soundgarden so accessible to me is the masculinanity ingrained in that grunge sound, whilst not being over obnoxious like a typical metalband. They understood their maturity, and used it to their advantage. Its such a shame, that their hardened characteristic faded in the 90s

@Chicagorules99 and then his listeners strive for more respect stating that they are mature, so they drink and smoke like the "adults do" still completely misguided that all they have to do is plug in the word Soundgarden and listen to every song that pops up on the first page, then they will be hooked and mesmorized and slowly go through the entire discography, move to the next person and repeat, you got yourself a saved generation sir
