  • Great! Very neat to see a video of Salamandra mating.

  • i like to use salamanders to fish with, nothing better than a salamander stuck in between a hook and a smallmouths cheek...id like to get ahold of one of those bad boys and let him squirm around on top of the water....BAM, fish on!

  • I'm sure it's a Salamandra, maybe terrestris.

  • Could tou tell me please in witch country this vidéo was taken? Europe? Thanks for this vidéo

  • ok, they look similar good enough for me, (:. im gettin a tiger this weekend

  • Well, those two species are separated by an ocean. Plus, Tigers don't really look like that. Perhaps this is Fire Salamander courtship.

  • its not a fire salamander its a tiger

  • I'm pretty sure that's not how Fire Salamanders mate. If I'm right, the male kind of blocks the female's path to get her attention. Then, it just deposits a spermatophore packet on the ground. Then the female picks it up. I'm not an expert on Fire Salamanders, but I'm knowledgeable with family Ambystomadae. I'll try to research a bit about Fire Salamander mating habits.
