That is not a maelstrom, that's just a whirl in the water! A maelstrom is big and very deep like the one in Pirates of the caribbean 3!!

What beautiful color the water has! We see this in the Pacific Northwest in North AMerica in areas where "rock dust" changes the refraction of the pool to make a brilliant turquoise.
