  • Imagine if the cycle itself was perfected. You could get a lot more range of motion and more power for sure!

  • would be interesting to time a tethered flight, so the machine would not drift to the side.

  • Wow, would you believe that he died in 1991 after retiring, just two years after this helicopter flight? I seem to remember hearing it towards the end of the video, too, but just posting it here incase anyone missed it.

  • @Divinized So in other words... multiply your base knowledge by 10.5? This is engineering, not science, by the way, and the Japanese aren't in any way special in terms of knowledge. This particular Japanese man and his associates ARE brilliant, though.

  • @Harley492 that was probably the optimal gear ratio because once the gear ratio is too low, he cannot generate the amount of power to run the rotors at the higher rate.
