Magic Planet Shooter - Wide Shot

This is Last Stand, a shooter developed by the Hatch team (http://www.etc.cmu.edu/projects/globalimagination/) for the Magic Planet, a spherical projection screen developed by Global Imagination (www.globalimagination.com).

It's a shoot-em-up game, like Galaga or Geometry Wars. But the Magic Planet is different from the flat screen that you would play either of those games on. Her Majesty's Last Stand takes advantage of the limited lines of sight on a spherical screen; neither of the players can see the whole screen at once, so they have to communicate and circle the globe to succeed. Even onlookers who aren't playing the game can contribute to the experience, by providing extra sets of eyes!

The Magic Planet offers a truly unique platform for games; the spherical field of play is shared, and continuous, but its shape creates a natural and intuitive way for challenges to "hide" around the horizon and be discovered through exploration.
