It's actually a blend of different fan dances from different cultures; the inspiration was geisha fan dancing, but the end result incorporated korean, chinese, and japanese fan moves in the fire fan choreography. For ease in naming the routine, the LAFC just nicknamed it the geisha routine, thus the title. If it were to be name-accurate, it would just be Asian Fire Fan routine :)

I think it's a korean fan dance. there are no geishas in Korea, the geisha culture originates from Japan.
