This video is provided by the Bellarmine Emergency Response Team, an all volunteer student EMS organization at Bellarmine University.

The Blindly-Inserted Airway Device (BIAD) station is relatively new to the Kentucky state boards. The station can also be completed with a CombiTube if given. Just remember that you can remove the device and try again if the lungs do not properly inflate. Make sure you provide proper oxygen perfusion as well.

  • Tying off the king LT, that's a serious WGAD if I've ever seen one. You don't have a proper connector?? This video is pretty instructive, nice review of proper technique, a few things that I learned were missed, but a few things were added to the video that I did not learn. Thanks alot.

  • @TeamSSUGaming When the hell do you ever use PPE in a classroom setting? You always state PPE but never waste supplies.

  • good video although I believe you fail the test if you ever let go of the connector on the king airway at any time after it has been inserted into the patient as it would be unstable and could compromise your airway. but aside from that good video.

  • they dont use these in LA county anymore. and even if they did EMT's wouldnt do it. :/ kinda sucks being an EMT in LA county.thats why you gotta get up there quick so you could be a paramedic and do the fun stuff

  • @KeithThe1 from what it looks like, this is just the airway station. not the full assessment

  • In my jurisdiction, a condition for king lt is that the patient is in cardiac arrest. So if he vomits or bites me I'm not very good at what I do.

  • @evankuhl just because he is unconscious does not make him dead. Unconscious people seize all of the time. And if your fingers are in the mouth, you are NOT getting them back until it is over.

  • @TeamSSUGaming You do realize it's a training dummy, right?

  • @evankuhl we use airway if there unconscious and have a low enough pulse
