This is a project I did for English 104 to inform others about visual impairments in today's society. If you would like to read the paper I wrote about this topic or if you have questions, feel free to message me. :)

  • I have ocular albinism too. I just finished my undergrad in early childhood education and am now becoming a vision teacher. I love this video; you did an excellent job. If your vision is now 20/60 does that mean you can drive? Do you use a bioptic or anything? Also, what did the surgery correct? I love finding other people to talk with about these types of things.

  • @LAshlieH I can drive... kind of. My license is very restricted. I recently got a bioptic & am on the waiting list for training in my state... The surgery slowed down my Nystagmus... a lot. It was very severe.

  • I was born with ROP stages 3 and 4 at 3 months premature. I wieghed 457g. I had cryogenic surgery on both eyes when I was 4 months old. I have 20/70 in left eye and 20/80 in right eye. I wear glasses to see. My vision has been stable since I was 4 months old. I'm planning on becoming a vision teacher to help students achieve thier full potential.

  • @1368447780 THat's great! :)

  • Hi Brittany! My daughters name is Brittany and she was diagnosed with optic nerve hypoplaisia with nystagmus at birth. This video is very inspiring as my husband and I also push our Brittany to her full potential. I love your confidence and I pray that you will "change the world". God bless you dear. Btw: You are beautiful :)

  • @twinmaker1 Thank you so much... She's going to be just fine. I'm here if you guys need anything, :)

  • @liveforsomethingmore That's great news! I drive with a bioptic too. I can't drive in the dark or at speeds above like 50 or something. Good luck with the training. It made me feel a lot better about driving; I was really scared at first.

  • @TheCoralineBlack That's awesome! I can't remember if I messaged you but if I haven't, shoot me a message. :)
