  • Looks like a nice site. Where is this on Long Pond. There appears to be 3 tent sites I am looking at to stay this summer. 3 are on the points towards the middle of the lake and one is on an island on the southern portion. How do these look?

    Thank you,

    Karen

  • @Natasha41100 This site is located near the portage to Slang pond. We stopped at the camp site this past spring on our way to Bessie Pond. (Adirondack Canoe Trip in ST. Regis Canoe Wilderness Area - Spring 2011). They had closed this site due to overuse and they are allowing it to rest. Not sure if it will be reopened this coming year or not. The island site that I'm thinking of is over by the put in from Floodwood road.

  • @Jnschaack It is kinda tucked away in the corner. Not to good for views. Any of the ones on the points are very nice and any north of the points are very good to. Have a great trip.

  • Awsome, My buddy and I went up at the end of May, 2011 for 6 days.

  • This is a Beautiful place...we go about twice each summer...going there next week!!!

  • @krock2561 How was your trip? Hope that you had good weather. How where the bugs? You can see our spring 2011 video, it's entitled ST. Regis Canoe Wilderness Area - Spring 2011.

  • @Jnschaack Was a great trip othe bugs weren't bad and the weather pretty nice! Other than the huge snapping turtle that ate our only Bas we caught!

  • @soggytoast89 - I was thinking the same thing. The one I've visited many time is near Speculator NY, and is down the trail from 'Rock Pond'. But then, 'Long Pond' and 'Rock Pond' are pretty generic names. Gotta be a dozen of them in the Adirondacks.

  • Not sure what to tell you. You must be thinking of a different lake then. This is located in the St. Regis Canoe Area Wilderness in Upstate New York, just above Floodwood Pond.
