Antonio Lotti (1667-1740) was a prolific composer, who wrote in many genres, including masses, cantatas, madrigals, and many operas. His compositions bridge the Baroque and Classical period, and are likely to have had some influence on subsequent composers, most notably Bach and Handel.

@serenaluce Thank you. This is from an album Scholl did called "Arias for Senesino." The name "Senesino" was the stage name of a famous 18th century castrato, Francesco Bernardi.

Beautiful! I've never heard of Antonio Lotti. Where do you find all these gems? Thanks for enlightening us:-) There is actually so much wonderful rare stuff to be discovered yet, and if nobody uploads it at least on YT it will be lost forever! So sad...
